The Health Task Force of the National Council of Churches is pleased to provide a venue in which the 2009 sermons, stories, prayers and congregation event notices concerning health care reform can be shared. These contributions have been developed by brothers and sisters of faith of many traditions and for use in a variety of settings of worship, education and advocacy.
We hope that the availability of these materials will serve to inform, inspire and move others to efforts to assure health care for all Americans. The theology and biblical scholarship reflected in these materials do not reflect the positions or understanding of the National Council of Churches of Christ U.S.A or its member communions.
Rather, these contributions have been submitted by the individuals and organizations identified in each instance. Responsibility for the concepts reflected, the originality of material and the accuracy of assertion of fact, in each instance, resides with the author and organization submitting the material.
It is our hope that the collection and posting of these efforts to link faith with the effort to obtain health care reform will make a contribution to your own faithful efforts to witness to justice and mercy in our society.
